The Chief Justice of Uganda announced the establishment of Uganda Judicial Studies Institute (JSI) during the opening of the Judges Annual conference on 5th January 2004. The institute operates as a department of the Judiciary on a semi- autonomous basis, separate from the day-to-day operations of the Judiciary. The Institute is headed by the Executive Director, who is also a Judge of the High Court, Hon. Justice Dr. Henry Peter Adonyo
